RideGauge Privacy Policy
This page explains the information the current product stores locally and sends when you use network-supported features.

This policy outlines the information stored and transmitted by the current RideGauge application. It describes present behavior and does not claim that unavailable market providers are connected.
Data stored on your device
The majority of the data you enter into RideGauge remains on your device. We use local, persistent storage so your active deals and Garage records are available across restarts.
Vehicle details
Category, year, make, model, trim, condition, and related inputs are stored locally in your active deal or saved Garage.
Deal finances
Asking price and related deal inputs are stored locally and used for calculations.
You can remove individual Garage entries directly in the product. Uninstalling or clearing site data normally removes local storage, subject to the platform’s behavior.
External services and network requests
- NHTSA public services: When you enter a VIN or request a recall lookup, the app connects to public services operated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Decoding sends the VIN; recall lookups send year, make, and model.
- RideGauge API: Market analysis or valuation requests may send normalized vehicle details and relevant request context, which can include ZIP code, search radius, mileage, or engine hours. Licensed market providers may not currently be connected.
Server processing, temporary storage, and logs
RideGauge does not currently store permanent user accounts, Garage records, deal histories, VIN histories, or ZIP histories on its server. This website stores Garage reports only in your browser.
Device permissions and tracking
No advertising or cross-app tracking. ZIP code is entered manually. Current code does not request camera, photo-library, microphone, contacts, Bluetooth, health, tracking, or location permission.
Third-party providers
RideGauge does not replace missing provider results with fabricated listings or unrelated category averages. Listing examples on this site are illustrative unless a live provider is connected.
